RDC - FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8

Our first yearTo think a little dance ministry in the Midwest could reach the “ends of the earth” seems improbable. Yet with God . . . When I wrote our Mission Statement five years ago, I wrestled with God; He had moved me to think globally, but to presume we could and would reach the world was incomprehensible. I wrote the word “world,” erased it and replaced it with the word “region”, erased that and left nothing. After several more erasures and wrestling with what I believed God had placed on my heart to write, I finally surrendered. God convinced me to write “world” because He knew we would indeed make an indelible mark on lives outside our city, region, and mainland borders.

Since then, RDC has been privileged to influence and plant seeds far beyond the Schwartz Road address. . .

Nursing home visitationJerusalem & Judea: Through our spring events, we have ministered directly to the people of Ft. Wayne and the surrounding region. In each production, our focus has been on Christ and the truth of the cross. We have offered alter calls and unique items for congregates to take home to remind them of our message. We have also ministered in area nursing/retirement homes with a Christmas message of the Christ Child.

Samaria:
Several alumni have gone from RDC equipped to begin teaching and leading others in the creative arts and dance for the glory of God. Currently, Lana is leading a group of girls in dance in Ft. Wayne; Linda is leading a group of boys and girls with the creative worship tools of ribbons and flags in North Manchester; Carol leads young ladies in dance and Word in Ohio and Brandy is teaching college student ministries both dance and flags at IPFW.

Dancers in Ecuador (under Lynelle's training)Ends of the Earth: We have had several extensions of influence beyond the states. Lynelle, a 2004 alumnus, was in Ecuador leading a group of women and girls in worship dance. Marilou Galo, a woman from the Philippines, requested teaching videos and dances to teach to a group of women there. And Pamela, a current student, will be leaving this summer to do mission work in Papua New Guinea, hoping to take the influence of Christ-centered dance there.

It’s been a privilege to train worshippers who desire to be excellent for their King. To have an impact beyond Ft. Wayne is exciting. With much gratitude we thank Central’s pastoral and elder staff for their blessing in beginning this ministry at Central and affording us an opportunity to follow after this call of God.
