Spiritual Significance of the color Olive: Represents Anointing
Olive oil was used as the base for anointing oils and was especially important to the tribe of Levi from which the priests came. To be anointed was to be set-apart for the work of the Holy One.
As dancer Levites, we seek to be used by God to usher those to whom we minister into the presence of God. We consecrate ourselves to God so that the anointing of the Holy Spirit can flow in and through us and bring ministry and healing to those who observe our worship.
Team Verse:
“Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue for all generations to come." Exodus 40:15
Class Expectations:
- Bible study
- Introduce and work on intermediate and advanced ballet syllabi
- Explore creative worship tools, group movement, interpretive movement, sign language
- Learn the “how” and “why” to enhance personal and corporate worship experiences
- Weekly devotional and monthly Bible verse memorization
- Perform at least 2 songs in our spring production held the first weekend of May

- Black sleeved leotard (no tanks or camisoles)
- Black opaque skirt with straight hem (available from RDC) or black pant (mid-thigh or longer)
- Pink tights (available at the RDC studio for appropriate color) required with skirt
- Pink ballet slippers (available at Standing Ovation)
- Optional: olive/chartreuse/amber/army green tank top over leotard
